I don't understand why it takes a $40,000 cook to replace Pablo.
Is he REALLY that good of a cook? They need a professional cook with 10 years' experience to replace him?
$40,000 is not entry level for a cook, at least outside of California. This seminary is in Kentucky is it not? Boston is in the middle of nowhere. Cost of living (and consequently, wages) can't be very high there.
My point -- you could get an intern, volunteer, college student, or minimum wage employee to make whatever Pablo is cooking, I'm sure.
I have never heard any legends or rumors about Pablo's cooking ability. I'll admit, I could be wrong. But I'm guessing not. He's a pipefitter, not a cook.
I bet he keeps wanting to make "Devil's Food cake" for dessert.
