I am grateful I was blessed to meet him a few times.  He was always very kind, very approachable, & put on no airs.  As someone said above, "Such a gentle soul, kind and a man of faith. Requiescat in pace."

Bp. Tissier confirmed 4 of my children October 3, 2023 at our small chapel in Fort Wayne, IN.  He had dinner with us afterwards and gave a good talk afterwards and completed the evening signing books/missals. Our priest pulled a lot of strings to get him to make the stop in between 2 other confirmation stops on his schedule. It was very humbling being in his presence, you could sense he was a very holy man. He told us he was writing a book on St Therese, I wonder what happened to it or if he finished it. May he RIP.

It's rather disheartening to hear that when Fr. Chazal went to Bp. Tissier to express his concerns over the changes to the SSPX in about 2012, Bp. Tissier told Fr. Chazal to "just be quiet."

Fr. Chazal says that at least Bp. Tissier always kept to what +ABL taught, even though he didn't stand up and fight for it when the changes happened. He was still better than the other two remaining bishops.

Bp. Tissier likely took obedience to his superiors very seriously. Perhaps to a fault? But then when is it considered a fault, when the burden of responsibility lies on the authority?
