Is there anything to the idea that the SSPX monastery(ies) and religious houses are less "accordista" than the Priories? Any special mentions? What about the benedictines in Silver City?
They either support the Resistance, or they don't.
They might not be chomping at the bit to involve themselves more & more with the Conciliar Church, but let's face it: what's going to happen is going to happen. If they aren't supporting and working with the Resistance and its bishops, what happens when the SSPX directs them to a Conciliar bishop for their holy oils? For their ordinations? What happens if the local Conciliar bishop decides this monastery or that convent is problematic for whatever reason? Perhaps it's too "divisive" or "controversial".
Long story short, it's dangerous and foolish to get too close and cozy with the Conciliar Church at this juncture. If +ABL was negative on the Conciliar Church in 1991, what would he think of it today? Let's face it -- it's absolutely, objectively much worse today.
It's a dangerous game they're playing. Even if they think they can just work & pray and ignore the "politics". It's not just politics. This kind of "politics" has a way of spilling over into real life. We're not talking about the fake 2-party political system in America, where the Rs and Ds are essentially the same when the rubber meets the road.
In conclusion, the Resistance is doing something truly necessary. It's not about this or that personality. It's about acknowledging the reality of the situation of the SSPX, and prudently preparing for the future. We need priests, we need the Mass, we need the Sacraments.
It's like the Catholic version of the Fourteen Words:We must secure the existence of Catholic Tradition and a future for Traditional Catholics.
By the way, I see no problem with the actual Fourteen Words either. Seems pretty basic to want your people to continue to EXIST.
We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.Just don't combine the Catholic 14 Words with the great event in Tradition, the consecration of the four bishops in 1988, and abbreviate it "1488".
People might misunderstand you, and let's face it, it would be your fault!
