You might be making the mistake I once did, in not recognizing that iws cultivate certain Catholics as public figures, not for the good of Catholics but for the good of iws. Chesterton and Belloc strike me as such types.
Fr. Feeney and Joe Sobran, even with their faults, strike me as having gone "too far" in the eyes of iws. Which is what makes them much more attractive.
