  • Did you know that?

You're not required to keep the thread's original title/subject, when you post to an existing thread.

Each post gets its OWN title. And if someone just hits "reply", the LATEST THREAD TITLE is used -- not the original!

Did you know about that feature? Have you been a member of CI for years and didn't know about that feature? I'll bet there's a few...

Notice when you're creating a POST (not just a new thread, but a post) that you can edit the Subject line? That's because you can type in whatever subject you want.

    You learn something every day!
    Want to say "thank you"?

  • Notice I changed the title in this thread. The latest title is what shows up in "latest threads", etc.

You can do this with *any* thread.

As always, you can't do much editing after the fact. But when you post, you can always correct anyone's mistake(s) in their subject line -- or change the subject altogether if the subject matter has "drifted" (a.k.a. the thread has been hijacked into a new topic).

  • Huh?  What other thread?
I believe that Matthew was referencing the thread with Father Pfeifer's mother's death announcement...

And wow, Matthew!  I totally did not know that anyone could change the titles of a thread with each post!  Thank you for letting us know!  :cowboy:

  • Wouldn't this make it difficult to keep track of thread you're following?

I typed my comment in the subject line. No I will see what happens in Recent Topics.

P.s. Checked. It doesn’t change in Recent Topics.

Yes, I don’t like that feature for exactly that reason.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?
