  • Hello-
I was wondering if anyone would know the ordination status of the priests at St Isadore's in Watkins, CO.
I'm pretty sure Fr Paul Robinson has a Novus Ordo ordination or a NO Bishop that ordained him- one or the other. Need to avoid that. How about the others?

    • Paul Robinson: -Prior, St. Isidore Church. -Principal, Our Lady Help of Christians Academy. ...
    • Patrick McBride. -Pastor, St. Isidore Church. -Chaplain, Third Order of the SSPX, St. ...
    • Dominic May. -Assistant Pastor, St. Isidore Church. ...
    • Nicholas McManus. -Assistant Pastor, St. Isidore Church.

My fallen away son needs to make a confession and we can't have any doubts about it. This would be a very big deal if it happens. Pray for him please.
( If there are Resistance priests in the Denver area that can be vouched for- all the better)
    Thanks

  • I'm pretty sure Fr. Robinson was traditionally ordained. I could be wrong, though, Novus Ordo Watch doesn't seem to doubt his ordination given they refer to him as Fr. rather than "Fr."

The problem with him isn't necessarily his Orders, but that he is a Modernist when it comes to science and the Church.

Edit: Fr. Robinson was indeed traditionally ordained by Bp. Fellay in Winona, MN in 2006

The link I posted in my edit has a large list of traditional priests and their ordinations. What I said about NOW was gleaned from their posts about Fr. Robinson.

Edit: Fr. McBride was ordained by Bp. Tissier in 2009 in Winona, MN.
Fr. May was ordained in 2006 in Winona, MN by Bp. Fellay
Fr. McManus was ordained in 2018 by Bp. Tissier in Dillwyn, VA.

  • I'd highly recommend Fr. Dominic May for your needs.
We had him for nine years and he is well grounded in tradition.

It says good thing about him that he was ordained in 2006 (same year as Father Robinson) and he's only an "assistant", while Father Robinson is prior.  It's typically the yes-men that get promoted.

Yes, Fr Paul Robinson went to a sspx seminary and ordained through them.  I know this 100%.

  • Have you looked into Servants of the Holy Family in Colorado Springs? Fr. Ward was ordained by +ABL, he was the first priest +ABL sent to America when SSPX was first on the scene here. I can tell you that he was a very good priest and confessor some 50 years ago, and that I would not hesitate for a second to have him hear my confession if I was in the Denver area.

  • Fr. Paul Robinson was ordained by Bp. Fellay.  I don’t at all agree with his modernist views, but there’s no doubt he is a Roman Catholic priest.

Thank you. I will look into this and good to know in general. Unfortunately getting my son to drive an hour and 1/2 from Denver to go to confession would be a challenge. Watkins is about 30 minutes East of where he lives and even that adds more resistance. (Sounds weird but you would have to know the situation) Maybe I can go there when and if I ever visit again (won't get on a plane anymore) Thanks again

  • Would your son be open to the possibility of one of the priests making a visit to where he lives?
