Yeah the downvotes show that love for truth is lacking. Perhaps dislike of the Dimonds is blinding some from see the obvious, that Trent never taught BoD.
There are a number of factors at work to blind them, only one of which is a contempt for the Dimond Brothers. Many of the same despise Fr. Feeney just as much, treating him as if he were a worse heretic than Archbishop Cushing or even Jorge Bergoglio.
Probably the greatest animosity comes from the small-minded sedevacantists who have, in overreacting to the errors of R&R, extended the scope of infallibility to include just about every time a pope passes wind, and in some cases, to
imprimaturs and the failure of popes or Councils to explicitly condemn one error or another.
These same also have embraced what I have termed Cekadism, the error he invented that the common opinion of theologians is an effectively-inerrant rule of faith ... contradicting themselves by having no answer for how, then, it happened that nearly every theologian (with the possible single exception of a Bishop Guerard des Lauriers) endorsed the teaching of V2 and the New Mass as Catholic, apart from some sudden mass apostasy that took place, where they were all Catholic rules of faith on, say, January 15, 1962, but all heretics on January 16, 1962.
And, then, there's just outright hated of EENS dogma. Because they have an un-nuanced understanding of eternal reward/punishment, they secretly can't stand the thought of "nice people" going to burn in hell ... so they welcome and embrace the notion that sincerity saves. Or perhaps they have relatives who passed away outside the Church.
There are some, however, who just honestly don't understand theology and simply (and humbly) side with the Doctors like St. Thomas, St. Robert, and St. Alphonsus. That's fine (since they're of good motive and no one can fault them), but he vast majority ... especially the ones who downthumb and post vitriol against EENS and not accepting BoD, they're of bad will due to one or more of the motives above.
